In Science, the aim is to provide a curriculum that enables each pupil to become:
Safe: developing scientific knowledge and understanding of themselves and their environment so that they can make informed choices in life as responsible and healthy citizens.
Happy: providing lessons that engage learners and create opportunities for them to work independently and collaboratively in a supportive environment. Enrichment opportunities will be provided beyond lessons to develop awareness of how science can be enjoyed out of the classroom and the myriad of careers available in this field.
Successful: enabling all learners to be able to build on their learning at KS2 and progress in Science, regardless of their ability or social background, developing the required skills and knowledge to succeed at GCSE along with transferable skills that prepare them for post 16 academic and vocational pathways.
